PLAYOFF GAMES--The SR Women’s Softball squad qualified for both the MCAL and NCS playoffs. The team’s first round MCAL game today against MC with MC as the host at 4:30 PM. The site is to be determined. The Varsity Baseball Team also qualified for both the MCAL and NCS playoffs for the first time since 2005. Their first round MCAL contest is scheduled for today vs. Redwood at Redwood at 4:30 PM. When the team advances to the next round the games will be played at Albert Park but it is an MCAL League Event not an SR event. Be advised that MCAL ticket prices are in effect for both Baseball and Softball: $7 – Adults, $4 – Students and $4 – Seniors. Let us all go and support the DAWGS! (Galli 5/15-5/16)

SAN RAFAEL'S DIAMOND DOGS-- The Bulldogs got wins over 2nd place Redwood, 4-3, and 3rd place Tam, 3-2, last week which brings them to a 5 game winning streak. The Bulldogs are currently in 5th place with a 7-5 record in league. The win over Redwood was the first since 2006 and the 5 game, in league, winning streak hasn't happened for the Dogs since 2004. The Dogs have been relying on their starting pitching behind Seniors Angelo Zorn, Jeff Ford and Sophomore Jack Cottrell. Gabe Yetnikoff is leading the team in Batting average and stolen bases while Bailey Bowler is the league leader in RBI's. The Dogs have 6 games left, 5 of which will be home games at Albert Park. If the Dogs win 3 more games, they will clinch a MCAL playoff spot for the first time since 2006. Dogs play MC on Tuesday and San Marin on Thursday at Albert Park at 7:00pm. SAN RAFAEL'S DIAMOND DOGS-- The Bulldogs got wins over 2nd place Redwood, 4-3, and 3rd place Tam, 3-2, last week which brings them to a 5 game winning streak. The Bulldogs are currently in 5th place with a 7-5 record in league. The win over Redwood was the first since 2006 and the 5 game, in league, winning streak hasn't happened for the Dogs since 2004. The Dogs have been relying on their starting pitching behind Seniors Angelo Zorn, Jeff Ford and Sophomore Jack Cottrell. Gabe Yetnikoff is leading the team in Batting

average and stolen bases while Bailey Bowler is the league leader in RBI's. The Dogs have 6 games left, 5 of which will be home games at Albert Park. If the Dogs win 3 more games, they will clinch a MCAL playoff spot for the first time since 2006. Dogs play MC on Tuesday and San Marin on Thursday at Albert Park at 7:00pm. This presentation is intended for both parents and students to learn all that you need to know about college as a ninth grader or as a parent of a ninth grader. Spanish translation will be available. ULTIMATE FRISBEE TEAM—will be meeting today for an hour directly after school on the football field. No experience is necessary. (4/20-4/21, 4/27-4/28)

FARMERS MARKET—is held today after school! Bring 2 reusable bags and load up on dinner for Friday night, and breakfast, lunch and dinner for Saturday and Sunday. Be kind to your hardworking parents because this can equal food worth $50-$100 dollars a month. All SRHS students are welcome. (Bryant 4/20-4/21, 4/27-4/28)

SENIORS--reminder that the MCSAA scholarship is due today. This award is for seniors who are planning to pursue careers in education. (Fernandez, 4/21).

PAPERSEED INTERNSHIP EVENT—Are you interested in girls’ rights? Do you want to learn why some girls around the world can’t get an education? Come to the Girl rising film screening today in the Hayes Theater at 5PM to see the stories of nine girls from developing countries overcoming great obstacles to obtain an education and change their fates. Get that wonderful clean car feeling for only $10 and know that you helped support the AVID Farmers market, the only food bank at a high school in Marin County. Seniors and Juniors will get priority and will need to complete an application and be in good standing. Please make sure to park in a legally designated spot. Illegally parked vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed. Applications will be available Thursday from your Junior and Senior Advisory teachers or with Ms. Rodriguez in the Principal’s office. THE LADY DAWGS VARSITY SOFTBALL TEAM--defeated cross town rival, TL, 3-2 at SR in last week’s game giving our team a 2-0 MCAL start. Congratulations Ladies. (Galli 3/21)

IN SWIMMING NEWS--we had another nail biter for the girls! It came down to the last relay. We conquered our first triple dual meet of the season against Justin Siena and Novato with a number of great swims and more than 15 best times. Gisell Chavez, Melissa Valencia, and Andrew Savedra bested their times in the 100 fly. And another NCS consideration qualifying time for Coco Berkenfield. This time in the 50 free with a 25.08. GSA—will be giving out free cupcakes by the Senior Steps this Friday, March 17th. Come by to learn about the LGBT community and get some sweet treats for participating. Our LGBTQ term of the day is Queer. The word queer is an umbrella term, used to describe anyone who does not identify as straight. Remember this term on Friday to get your free cupcake. SENIORS--this is a reminder that the Redwood's Resident Council Scholarship is due today by 8:00pm. If you are planning to apply be sure to gather all of your materials ASAP. (Fernandez 3/15-3/17).

PENNIES FOR PATIENTS—Donate money during your Advisory class! All money goes to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Association. The top 2 Advisories with the most money raised will win a free breakfast during Advisory. Currently in the lead is Madame Truett with $50.12 and Mr. Dennis with $26.11. THERE IS A GRAND OPENING FOR THE RISING STARS ART SHOW--that includes all of Marin County High School art at Youth in Arts, starting this Sunday onward. For the Month of March, many of SRHS art students will display their work at the gallery, along with fellow schools. Come check it out and support! (Yi 2/28-3/2)

OUR MOUNTAIN BIKING TEAM--the Bike Dawgs, had an outstanding start to their race season last Sunday at Ford Ord in Monterey. Sophomore girls Jordan Locke, Judith Santos, and Ameena Thune placed 8th, 9th and 10th to round out the top ten in their category. Sophomores Joel Butler placed 6th and Nick Boulter grabbed a highly coveted podium spot at 4th place. And James Boulter placed 7th in the tough JV category. Way to go Bike Dawgs! (Locke 3/1-3/3)

TURNABOUT SPRING FORMAL DANCE--The Turnabout Spring Formal is coming! Join us at the Mardi Gras dance on Saturday, March 4th from 7:00-10:00. So, LADIES, ask a date to the dance! Tickets for couples with ASB are $24; tickets for couples without are $26. Tickets for singles with ASB are $15; tickets for singles without are $17. Dance tickets will be sold during brunch and lunch at the Student Store Wednesday, February 15th through Friday, March 3rd!
