Hello SRHS community,

I hope your school year is going as well as it is for us here at school. The students and staff seem engaged and happy as we pursue our goal of increased literacy for all with the end result:  college and career readiness after four years at SRHS.

Last year we passed the WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) hurdle with a six year accreditation.  It was a lot of work and a great validation to receive the six year certification. WASC will be by in three years to check in but all in all, we are in good shape. Thank you to all who participated in this process.

It was great to see so many of you at Back to school Night!

Hola la Comunidad de SRHS,

Espero que suaño escolar vaya tan bien como lo es para nosotros aquí en la escuela. Los estudiantes y el personal parece comprometida y feliz mientras perseguimos nuestra meta de alfabetización aumentó para todos, con el resultado final: preparación universitaria y profesional después de cuatro años en SRHS.

El año pasado pasamos la WASC (Asociación Occidental de Escuelas y Universidades) barrera con una acreditación de seis años. Fue mucho trabajo y una gran validación para recibir la certificación de seis años. WASC vendrá a visitarnos en tres años en hacer una revisión o simplemente para apoyar, pero en general, estamos en buena forma. Gracias a todos los que participaron en este proceso.

Fue bien amable a ver a tantosde ustedes la Noche de Regreso a la escuela!

Hello San Rafael High School families,

I love beginnings, don’t you? A fresh start, a new outlook and a chance to begin again. Summer is flying by and a few of us are here at school preparing for your arrival and the start of the new school year.  The grounds are looking beautiful, the floors newly waxed, computer systems are being upgraded, communications refined and new staff being hired.

Speaking of which, please join me in welcoming Angelina Arias, our new assistant principal; welcome back Maya Akpinar to the Science Department and Mike Kim to English and ELD. Welcome Abby Crome to Spanish , Stacey Farrell to Social Studies, Natalie Fortune to Math, Johanna Bearg to Science, and Suzanne Truett to French.  I am very pleased with the quality and experience of our new staff and am excited to include them in our community.  Thank you for reaching out and welcoming them. All can be reached via email with their first initial and last name at srcs.org. We are in the process of hiring new support staff as well. 

Freshman and new students, you will not be the only new faces at school this year!  Welcome to all of you. We are here to support you in feeling at home and a part of our community so that you can bring your best self to school and work each day. We hope youwill do your best to learn and grow to your fullest potential.  Welcome to new staff, new families and new students. We are so glad you have joined our community of learners.

School, just as life, is full of change and growth. Nothing stays the same for long in the life of a teenager. We are working on streamlining our communication system because there is much to communicate about and we all know that communication can ALWAYS be improved. Please be in touch if there is anything we can do to support you and your student. The enclosed packet will give you lots of information about how to be in touch and when you can expect to hear from us.

Again, welcome to the new year at San Rafael High School. I look forward to seeing you at Orientation on August 20th if not before.

Saludos a las familias de San Rafael High SchoolA mi me encantan los comienzos, a ustedes tambien? Un comienzo fresco, una nueva perspectiva y la oportunidad de empezar de nuevo. El verano esta volando y unos cuantos estamos aqui en la escuela preparando para su llegada y el comienzo de un nuevo año escolar.  El campo escolar esta bello, los pisos estan nuevamente pulidos, el sistema de las computadoras está siendo mejorado, comunicaciones se estan refinando y nuevos miembros de la facultad se estan empleando.

Les invito a dar la bienvenido a Angelina Arias, nuevo sub-directora, bienvenido de regreso a Maya Akpinar regresando al departamento de Ciencia y Mike Kim regresando al departamento de Inglés y ELD. Bienvenido tambien a Abby Crome profesora de Español , Stacey Farrell profesora de Estudios Sociales, Natalie Fortune profesora de Matematicas, Johanna Bearg nueva profesora de Ciencia, y Suzanne Truett profesora de Francés.  Estoy muy complacida con la calidad y experiencia de la nueva facultad y emocionada que se unen a nuestra comunidad.  Gracias por sus esfuerzos en darles la bienvenida.  Todos pueden ser contactados por medio de email con el inicial de su primer nombre y apellido complete @srcs.org. Estamos tambein en el proceso de emplear Nuevo personal de apoyo.

Estudiantes del grado nueve y nuevos estudiantes,  no seran las unicast caras nuevas en la escuela este año!  Bienvenidos a todos. Estamos aqui para apoyarlos en sentirse comodos y una parte integral de nuestra comunidad escolar para que puedan asistir a la escuela todos los dias dando lo major de tí mismo. Esperamos que todos los dias hagan lo major que puedan para poder cumplir con su potencia máxima.  Bienvenida a nuestra nueva facultad, nuevas familias y nuevos estudiantes.  Nos agradece que ustedes se hayan unido a nuestra comunidad de aprendizaje.

La escuela, como la vida, esta lleno de cambio y crecimiento.  Nada se queda igual por mucho tiempo en la vida de los jóvenes. Nos estamos esforzando para tener un sistema comunicación mas simplificado porque hay mucho que comunicar y todos sabemos que la comunicación SIEMPRE puede ser mejorado. Favor de contactarnos si hay algun apoyo que les podemos ofrecer a ustedes y a su estudiante. Adjunto esta incluido un packete que les dara mucha información sobre como contactarnos y cuando podrá esperar comunicación de nosotros.

Una vez más, bienvenido al nuevo año escolar en San Rafael High School.  Espero verlos en la Oreintación escolar el 20 de Agosto si no los veo antes.
