SRHS XC Boys WIN NCS D-IV ... AGAIN!!!!!

IMG_2015.JPG

And they just keep on winning...

Wow, what an epic, incredible, gritty, relentless, race!  The rain came, as it did in 2010 and 2012 and our boys rose to the occasion in 2014.  With determination, guts, and heart they put it all out there and emblematic of our season theme, they Dropped the Hammer!  Favored to win, all the pressure on them, targets on their back, they showed up composed, focused, and ready to race.  Nassim once again led the way, gunning for a title, settling for 3rd overall, with an all out effort.  Munir, wow, 5th overall and top Freshman.  Blake following so close behind in 6th.  Jason battled and threw down an incredible kick for 12th place overall.  Nick ran a stellar race, placing 28th overall.  Then Sean and Will had really strong efforts as well.  The boys put it out there and were rewarded.  Rewarded for all the hard work that started this summer.  Rewarded for the Piper Park repeats, the hill repeats, the long runs, the core work.  Rewarded for showing up everyday, for working hard, and for BELIEVING that anything is truly possible.  We have one more race, one more time to don the cardinal red and white.  One more time for our seniors, one more time to represent this program, the little public school that can and does time and time again.  Let’s bring it and finish strong and leave it all out there.

This program, wow, by the numbers …
4: MCAL titles in 6 years.
8: Straight years of advancing to the State XC Meet.  Second only to St. Mary’s in D-IV (10 times).
8: Total number of times advancing to the State XC Meet.  Finally surpassing Redwood (7) for the most in MCAL Boys XC History.
3: NCS titles in 5 years.  More than any other MCAL school (girls or boys) in the modern division era.
51: Total points scored at NCS.  Our lowest score ever.

CONGRATULATIONS 2014 MEN's MCAL CHAMPIONS!!
